A major figure in 20th-century Belgian architecture, architect Jacques Dupuis (1914–1984) has been celebrated since the late 1990s through national and international publications, documentaries, and exhibitions. Several of his projects have been designated as heritage sites in Brussels and the Flemish Region. Many of his works are featured in Heritage Days tours throughout the country. For over twenty years, analytical and interpretive studies in numerous schools and faculties of architecture in Belgium and abroad have confirmed the enduring appeal of this exceptional body of work.

The aim of this publication is to offer a more in-depth exploration of his projects in the Brussels Region. The book comprises 18 texts by various authors, providing a comprehensive overview of his projects and completed works in Brussels. Several homeowners share their experiences of living in these buildings and their timeless character. This collection illustrates the importance and recognition of Jacques Dupuis's work.

Two texts discuss the situation of his projects in Flanders and Wallonia, and the book concludes with a reflection on a teaching experience. This final text highlights the architectural qualities discussed throughout the publication, qualities which, over time, continue to offer avenues for reflection on numerous aspects of dwelling, the relationship to space, phenomena of perception, the mastery of light and color, the importance of materials and interior design, and so on.
